X-energy’s IPO and What It Means for Nuclear Energy

Alumni Ventures’ Senior Principal Keaton Nankivil led a clear-eyed look at X-energy’s IPO — one of the most consequential public listings in the nuclear space in decades — and what small modular reactors, AI compute demand, and a renewed appetite for baseload power mean for the venture opportunity forming across advanced energy today.
See video policy below.
In this session, Keaton walked through why X-energy’s public debut is a watershed moment for nuclear — and what it signals about the broader renaissance underway across the sector. Keaton covered how small modular reactor (SMR) technology has moved from research labs to public markets, why AI compute demand is driving unprecedented interest in nuclear power, and where the most compelling venture opportunities are forming across the full nuclear stack — from reactor design and advanced fuel supply, to grid integration and the industrial infrastructure needed to scale.
Whether you were a current Alumni Ventures investor sharpening your view of advanced energy, or an accredited investor evaluating the nuclear thesis for the first time, this session gave you a grounded, investor-focused look at one of the most consequential deep tech opportunities of the decade. Watch the recording to hear directly from Keaton and his responses to investor questions from the live Q&A.
