AV Co-Founder Luke Antal’s VC 101 video series provides insights on venture capital essentials. In this episode, AV’s Chief Community Officer presents a video exploring how venture capital can provide valuable diversification to an investment portfolio.

This episode of VC 101 features key members from AV’s Office of Investment discussing how the venture capital asset class can play an important role in diversifying your portfolio. Compared to publicly traded assets, which can be prone to volatile swings, VC is a long-term asset class that has shown limited correlation to public markets.*

Alumni Ventures further diversifies investments by sector, geography, stage, and lead investor. Many AV customers also invest in a fund each year add “time” as an additional vector of diversification. This cornerstone of our strategy helps mitigate risk by ensuring capital isn’t deployed to any single investment while maintaining reserves for follow-on investments into companies with demonstrated traction. The result is an approach to venture capital investing designed to help minimize risks and geared to maximize opportunities for return.**
